Knights Blast Falcons

A lopsided 12-1 loss in Corvallis on Saturday has the Falcons looking to salvage a game on Sunday in the series finale.

Saturday night’s game against the Knights saw a recurring theme for the Falcons pitching staff; walking hitters. Six Falcons pitchers combined to walk 14 hitters and allowed just 10 hits.

Austin Lambright started for the Falcons, lasting just one inning after giving up two runs and he walked four. He didn’t allow a hit.

Head Coach Billy Clontz then used Aaron Mason, Lincoln Herendeen, Mike Gould, Joel Lamont and Matt Rigby. None of them made through a full three innings of work.

The Falcons offense also struggled on Saturday night, collecting just four hits and not scoring until their final at bat in the ninth inning. Trey Kamachi scored the Falcons lone run, plating on a wild pitch. He also had two hits, while Brandon Grimsley and Ryan Degner recorded the other two hits.

Sunday afternoon, the Falcons (5-9) six game road trip will conclude in the season finale with the Knights (9-5) with Jeremy Newton on the mound.

The Falcons return to Elks Stadium on Tuesday to open a three game series with the Yakima Pippins. On Thursday in the series finale, the game will be featured at the Fire Fighters Burn Fund night. All gate proceeds will be donated to the BC Burn Fund. Following game, there will be a fireworks display (weather permitting).
