Kelowna Falcons

Falcons “Falls”

Not the way the Falcons wanted to begin their nine game road trip, with a 13-6 loss in Klamath Falls Oregon.

The Gems pounded 19 hits and scared starter Jeremy Newton for the game after just 3.2 innings.  Newton surrendered seven runs on 10 hits falling to 1-4 on the season.  Joel Lamont, Lincoln Herendeen and Austin Lambright also threw in the game.

The Falcons offense was slow out of the gate after a 12+ bus ride.  They would score all six runs in the final three innings.  Brandon Grimsley was again the Falcons best hitter, collecting two hits and two RBIs.  Trey Kamachi also knocked in two runs but finished the game hitless.  Josh Croft, Tommy Lane and Jeff Nelson each collected a single.

Game two of the three game series goes tonight.  Sam Murphy gets his first start since July 5 when the Falcons crushed the Wenatchee Applesox 13-4.
