Shootout in Medford

A shoot-out in Medford as the Falcons have their three game winning streak snap falling 10-9 to the Rogues.

The night started well for the Falcons offense scoring four times in the first three innings.  Josh Croft hit a first inning homerun, Erik Colombini knocked in a run and scored a run in the second, before collecting his second RBI in the third inning.

However in the bottom of the third the Rogues went to work and scored five times off starter Matt Moriarty.  The Rogues followed that inning with four more runs in the fourth and one in the fifth.

In the sixth inning the Falcons started to crawl back when Croft collected his second RBI of the game, singling home Colombini.

The top of the ninth the Falcons exploded for four more runs   Tommy Lane, Trey Kamachi, Ryan Degner and Colombini each singled in a run, but would leave the tying run in scoring position.

The Falcons outhit the Rogues 13-8, but defensively committed five errors, which led to the winning run.  Colombini had his best game of the summer with four hits and three RBI.  Degner had three hits and drove in two, while Croft had two hits and two RBIs.

Saturday night the Falcons and Rogues will play in the series rubber match.  Jeremy Alderman (2-2) will look to bounce back from a different start last week in Bellingham.  The West Coast League All-Star Game is scheduled for Monday.  Scotland Church is the lone Falcon representative.
