Kelowna Falcons

End of the Road

It took just two hours and 14 minutes for the Yakima Valley Pippins to close out the Falcons road trip with a 2-0 victory.

The game featured two solid pitching performances by each club’s starter.

Brandon Lambright (pictured) started for the Falcons and threw a one hitter over the course of 4.2 innings. He would give up a two out single in the bottom of fifth inning to the Pippins DH, scoring what proved to be the winning run.  Reliever Mike Gould pitched the final 3.1 innings, giving up a run on two hits.

The Pippins’ starter Austin Woodword pitched a complete game four hit shutout, while fanning 10 hitters.

Will Fox had two singles for the Falcons and Anthony Gosline and Tommy Lane accounted for the other two hits for the visitors.

The loss on Sunday evening concludes the road portion of the Falcons 2014 schedule and seasonal series with division rival Pippins.  Their road record finishes at 10-17, while they lost eight of nine games against the Pippins.

The Falcons will play their final six games at home beginning on Tuesday against the Wenatchee Applesox.  The first pitch on Tuesday is scheduled for 6:35pm.
