Falcons Drop 2nd Straight

The Kelowna Falcons lost their 2nd straight game, falling 4-1 to the Yakima Valley Pippins on Wednesday Night at Elks Stadium.

The Pippins used the 2nd inning to jump on the Falcons for the second straight night, getting the first two batters aboard and using a sacrifice bunt to move them over.

They would score their 3 runs on a ground out from Jens Jensen and a single from Corey Morris. Layne Croney would also single in a run, but Tyler Friis was thrown out at 3rd base to end the frame.

The Falcons responded with a run of their own in the 3rd, as Matt Hearn lead off with a single, advanced on a sac bunt, then scored after a throwing error and a wild pitch.

The only other run would come in the 4th inning after the Falcons committed a pair of errors, their 8th and 9th of the series.

Jayse Bannister worked 4 scoreless innings in relief for the Falcons behind starter Jaramy Jacobs, who allowed 3 earned runs over 5 innings while taking the loss.

Josh Nashed got the win for the Pippins, while 2014 Falcon Wyatt Mills got the save for Yakima Valley.

The two teams meet Thursday to finish the series on Minor Ball Night. All players wearing their minor ball jersey get in FREE.
