Kelowna Falcons

Lamont Deals Victory

Joel Lamont went 6 innings and Ben Gamba provided a pair of RBI’s as the Kelowna Falcons salvaged one game against Yakima Valley with a 6-5 victory Thursday at Elks Stadium.

The Okanagan College product Lamont gave up 5 hits and walked a pair while allowing only 1 earned run.

The Falcons got off to a good start in the first inning after an Andre Jackson double. He would score when Gamba grounded into a double play.

The Pippins responded with 2 of their own in the 4th, taking advantage of a Falcons error.

Kelowna took the lead for good in the 5th inning off a couple of Pippins miscues as Ben Gamba would drive in a pair with a single.

The Falcons added runs in the 6th and 7th innings as well, with Josh Egan and Hunter Villanueva picking up the RBI’s.

Curtis Taylor would come on with 2 out in the 8th inning and would complete the 4-out save.

The Falcons will host the Medford Rogues for 3 games Friday to Sunday this weekend. Friday night’s game is presented by Goodlife Fitness, the Official Gym of the Kelowna Falcons.
