Kelowna Falcons

Streak Ends

The Wenatchee AppleSox snuffed out a late comeback attempt by the Kelowna Falcons, winning 6-4 Wednesday night in Game 3 of the series at Paul Thomas Sr. Field.

The AppleSox got on the board in the 1st inning after a Joey Jansen single and stolen base, Keston Hiura would drive him in for the 1-0 lead.

Zach Hagget kept the Falcons off balance through 6 innings, as they managed only two hits, one each from Wade Gulden and Max Carter.

The AppleSox would score 3 times in the 6th inning on one swing, as Evan Douglas hit a breaking ball over the right field wall for the 4-0 lead.

Wenatchee added 2 more runs in the 7th inning as Hiura picked up his 2nd RBI. Keaton Smith would also score in the frame on a wild pitch before Jared Morton could get the final out.

Kelowna would get on the board in the 8th inning, loading the bases and getting a run across on a wild pitch. A strikeout would end the threat.

Hagget went 7.2 innings for the AppleSox, holding the Falcons to 2 hits, walking the last 3 Falcons hitters before his departure.

Kelowna would tighten the ballgame up in the 9th as Hunter Villanueva and Justin Flores went back to back with solo shots to make it 6-3.

The Falcons would get the tying run on first base with a 6-4 scoreline, but a strikeout would end it as Brian Gadsby picked up the save.

Kelowna will face Wenatchee the next three nights as well, as the two teams meet in Kelowna at Elks Stadium Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 6:35.
