Kelowna Falcons

7th Inning Rally

It started with a rendition of the national anthems by the players. It ended with 200 people on the field for autographs as the Kelowna Falcons scored 3 runs in the 7th to knock off the Corvallis Knights 7-6 Thursday night in Kelowna.

With Beyond the White Lines softball in attendance, along with hundreds of other eccentric and loud Falcons fans, Kelowna found themselves down in the 3rd inning when the Knights struck 4 times.

A 3-RBI double by Cam Bishop was the highlight, as he hammered a pitch off the top of the wall to clear the bases.

Kelowna got 3 runs back in the 4th, when Brandon Oliver doubled scoring one, and Matt Hearn had a 2-RBI single. Both hits came with 2 outs.

The Knights got a pair of solo homeruns from Michael Farris and Josh George in the next 2 innings, but Hunter Villanueva responded with one of his own to make it 6-4.

Kelowna would own the 7th, getting the first two runners on as the Knights made a pitching change. A bases-loaded walk to Ben Gamba made it 6-5, before Kyle Plantier gave the Falcons the lead with a 2-RBI single.

Matthew Kirk picked up the win for the Falcons, while Alex Webb got the 4 out save.

Kelowna, having qualified for the Playoffs, awaits the final standings to determine the schedule.

The Falcons will either host a playoff game on Tuesday or Wednesday next week, but check the website for all the information.
