Sox Steal Series

Despite pounding 12 hits, four doubles and a homerun the Falcons drop the series finale in Wenatchee 9-5 on Tuesday night.

Offensively the Falcons gave themselves chances to win however couldn’t find the timely hit leaving 11 base runners on against the Applesox.  Lane Lacrone led the charge with three hits and an RBI, while Jesse Moore and Max Carter collected a pair of hits each.

The Falcons loudest knock came off the bat of Joey Crunkleton blasting his first homer of the season in the top of the second inning giving the visitors the lead.  After Lacrone gave the Falcons a two-run advantage on a fielder’s choice the Sox stormed back scoring three times in the home half of the third off starter Blake Randazzo.

In the top of the sixth inning the Falcons regained the lead 5-3 as Lacrone and Moore tallied RBIs, only to give it up again in the bottom half when the Sox scored four times.

In his five innings of work Randazzo gave up six earned runs on 11 hits and struck out two and was tagged with the loss.

The Falcons end the first half of the season at 13-14 and will begin the second half on Wednesday night in the friendly confines of  Elks Stadium when the Gresham GreyWolves (11-16) visit for the first time ever.   Payback will be the theme of the next three nights after the GreyWolves took two of three last month in Gresham.  The gates on Wednesday night open at 5:30pm, with the first pitch set for 6:35pm.  Partial proceeds will be donated back to the United Way of the Central Okanagan.
