Pitchers Duel

Monday night the Falcons dropped a 2-1 decision to the Cowlitz Black Bears in a game that saw the pitching dominate.

Blake Randazzo (pictured) was simply outstanding for the Falcons giving up just one hit through the first six innings of work.  However in the bottom of the seventh the Black Bears scored an unearned run, followed by a earned run and game winner in the bottom of the eighth to steal the series.  Randazzo suffered the loss throwing all eight innings and scattering just five hits.

The Falcons offence was having problems of their own against the Black Bears staff earning just five hits.  Catcher Bowen Ogata accounted for three of those hits and scooped up the lone RBI chasing home JT Williams in the top of the eighth inning.

Prior to the game on Monday the West Coast League announced the 2016 All-Stars and catcher Brendt Citta and pitcher Jared Morton will represent the Falcons.  The mid-summer classic will be played at Cowlitz next Tuesday.

The road trip for the Falcons (14-19) will continue tonight when they travel to Kitsap to face the Bluejackets (10-23) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in a home and home.  The Bluejackets will then come to Elks Stadium over of the weekend for a three game set.
