Four Hit Shutout

Three Falcons pitchers combined for a four-hit shutout on Thursday evening and a 5-0 victory in the series finale with the Cowlitz Black Bears.

Starter Cal Hehnke was magnificent striking out nine over his six innings of work and allowed just three hits recording the victory, his second of the summer.  James Brooks then pitched two innings fanning four and then handed the ball to Braeden Toikka who slammed the door in a perfect ninth.

Offensively Logan Steinberg caught fire with a two run homerun, a pair of hits, three RBIs, scored a run and walked in four plate appearances.  Chris Arpan also had two hits including an RBI double while Taylor Wright reached base three times and knocked in a run.

With the victory the Falcons win their sixth of the summer and climb back to .500.  The ball club boarded the bus immediately following the game and head back for Kelowna to open a three game set with the Yakima Valley Pippins (5-6) on Friday night at Elks Stadium.  Reserve your tickets HERE.  It’s also a $5.00 Friday, score a burger and pop combo for just $5.00.
