Voelzke Is Back

The Falcons are pleased to announce the return of infielder/outfielder Matt Voelzke (pictured) from George Fox University for the upcoming summer.

He was a solid player both at the plate and in the field last year.  Offensively he hit .245 in 46 games and had 147 plate appearances.  He knocked out 36 hits, four of which were doubles and had 17 RBIs and 20 walks.

Defensively he played in 312.1 innings for the Falcons and collected 34 putouts and 52 assists, good for a .915 fielding percentage.

He will enter his sophomore season at George Fox after hitting .288 as a freshman with 23 RBIs.

Traveling to Kelowna with Voelzke from George Fox will be righthanded pitcher Isaac Olson.  He is also entering his sophomore season after appearing in 12 games last year.   He finished 1-0 in two starts and had an ERA of 6.88 with 17 punch outs.

Both players are expected to be with the Falcons June 1st when the 2018 season opens at Elks Stadium against the Bellingham Bells.  Season tickets are available now; call 250-763-4100.
