Voelzke Wins Award

The West Coast League announced today that Matt Voelzke has been named the Pitcher of the Week.

Last week the veteran recorded a victory, combining to throw 8.1 innings and struck out 12 allowing just one hit. So far this season he is 2-0 with a 1.39 ERA in eight appearances this season.

At the plate this year Voelzke has collected 15 hits, a homerun and five RBIs.

He and the rest of the Falcons will be cheering on Kristian Scott and Cole Cummings during the WCL All-Star Game on Tuesday night in Bend, Oregon. The Falcons will open a three game home stand on Wednesday with the Yakima Valley Pippins in town.
