Kelowna Falcons

20th Anniversary

The Kelowna Falcons will open the 20th anniversary season on June 5th when they welcome the Walla Walla Sweets to Elks Stadium for a three game series.

Since last year’s head coach Ryan Wright stepped down after accepting a position with the Toronto Blue Jays the Falcons have been searching for a new manager. An announcement in the early part of January will unveil the new head coach. Meanwhile the Sweets will be managed by 14-year Major League Baseball alum Jeff Cirillo.

The Falcons enter their 20th summer in Kelowna and will play a 54 game schedule which concludes on Sunday August 9th at Bellingham.

The West Coast League (WCL) season once again is split in half. The division leaders at the halfway point of the schedule will clinch a playoff spot regardless of how they finish after the second half. Each team’s record will return to 0-0 and the winner of the second half of the season will also clinch a post season berth much like the Falcons did in 2018.

Of the 54 games the Falcons will play, 27 will be home dates with potential playoff games following the regular season. In addition to the Sweets, fans in Kelowna will see the Victoria Harbourcats, Cowlitz Black Bears, Corvallis Knights, Bellingham Bells, Bend Elks, Yakima Valley Pippins Port Angeles Lefties, and their arch nemesis the Wenatchee Applesox.

The WCL now has 12 membered teams split into a pair of divisions; the North and South divisions.

The 2020 All-Star Game will be hosted by the Wenatchee Applesox in Washington on Monday July 20th at Paul Thomas Field.

Season tickets are available now by calling the Falcons headquarters at 250-763-4100.
