Kelowna Falcons

World Series Ready

It’s been nine years since pitcher Phil Maton threw his last pitch at Elks Stadium as a member of the Falcons. In 2012 he appeared in 11 games and struck out 42 batters in 39.1 innings and finished with a 2.74 ERA and a 2-1 record.

Fast forward to 2021 and Maton becomes the first Falcons’ alumni to play in the World Series. As a member of the Houston Astros, he will face the Atlanta Braves for baseball supremacy beginning tonight. So far in this post season run, Maton has appeared in seven games and fanned six batters in just 6.2 innings. He is fresh and ready to make his World Series debut.

During the 2021 regular season, Maton finished 6-0 with a 4.73 ERA and struck out 85 in 66.2 innings.

Good luck Phil!
