The Kelowna Falcons are proud to recognize some of the amazing teachers that we have in the Okanagan with the Most Valuable Teacher of the Month award.
Each month the Falcons will highlight a teacher from the community on Instagram and Facebook. That teacher will then be entered to win an outstanding Falcons’ prize pack and be invited to one of our home games this coming summer. They may even get to throw out the opening pitch!
Our first Most Valuable Teacher of the Month for January 2022 is Darren Banting from Canyon Falls Middle School. He teaches math and science within the Deer Community has been at the school since it first opened in September of 2019.
“Every day education professionals put their students first and support their growth and academic potential,” says General Manager Mark Nonis. “Over the past two years during the global pandemic teachers, support staff and administrators have worked tirelessly to ensure students have an opportunity to grow and learn and we want to recognize them for their amazing contributions to our community. We hope they put their pens down for a night and join us at a ball game this summer.”
