Two More Righties

The Kelowna Falcons are proud to add a pair of righthanded pitchers from Centralia College to the summer staff, welcome Derek Beairsto and Brock Keller.

Beairsto is coming off this freshman season with the Trailblazers and is a big body on the mound at 6’3, 215 pounds. This spring he compiled a 5-3 record with a 4.32 ERA after starting 13 games and threw 73 innings. He struck out a team high 89 batters and threw one complete game. He has five pitches that he can use to attack a batter including a splitter and knuckle-curve.

Keller is coming off his freshman year and appeared in 13 games, seven of them were starts and threw 47.1 innings striking out 45 batters. He didn’t get much run support and finished 1-4 with a 5.32 ERA and did record a save. Like Beairsto he’s a big righty at 6’2 and 220 pounds with four solid pitches including a dominating slider.

Both pitchers are looking to build on their experience this summer and head back to Centralia in Washington stronger knowing their sophomore season will be an important one.
