Kelowna Falcons

Best From Bellingham

Following the Falcons weekend series in Bellingham we are proud to announce our Pitcher and Player of the Series presented by Wildfire Marketing.

Pitcher of the Series
Trent Merrill – Mt. San Antonio College, Chino Hills, CA

He started the first game of the series against the best offence in the North Division and shut them down. The lefty threw six innings and kept the Bells’ hitters off balance, allowing just an unearned run. He would fan one batter and had a 2-1 lead when he left the ballgame.

Player of the Series
Jeter Ybarra – Ohlone College, San Jose, CA

He has swung a hot bat as of late and has been a solid contributor to the Falcons offence. Against one of the top ranked pitching staff in the North Division, Ybarra came up with some timely hits knocking in a pair of runs on three hits and had a double. In the field he scooped up everything that was hit his way and finished the series with nine putouts.

The Falcons are back at Elks Stadium Tuesday night to welcome the Port Angeles Lefties to town to open a three-game series. The Falcons are in a must situation with playoff positioning on the line over the next three days. Tonight, is also Umpire Appreciation Night with umps from each minor league level in attendance. It is a fundraiser for Kid Sport Kelowna with a dunk tank, radar gun and bouncy houses for the kids to enjoy. Tickets will be available at the gate as of 5:30pm.
