Kelowna Falcons

Best From Edmonton

The Kelowna Falcons are proud to announce the Player and Pitcher of the Series presented by Wildfire Marketing following a historic trip to Edmonton this past weekend.

Player of the Series
Griffin Palfrey – Columbia University, West Vancouver, BC

With the offence struggling in Saturday’s doubleheader, Griffin Palfrey took matters into his own hands in Sunday’s series finale and guided the Falcons to a 12-2 victory. He was 3-3 with four RBIs in the win along with a stolen base, a walk and had an assist defensively. For the series he hit .600 over the weekend and was solid with the glove.

Pitcher of the Series
Jasper Nelson – Spokane Falls College, Las Vegas, NV

The pitching staff was solid over the weekend allowing just four runs in the three-game set. In the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday Jasper Nelson was excellent, throwing a complete game (six innings) and struck out six, allowing just one run but took the loss in a 1-0 final. Nelson scattered five hits but didn’t receive any offensive help.

The Falcons stay on the road and visit the Port Angeles Lefties beginning Tuesday, then finally return home on Friday night to open a weekend series with the Walla Walla Sweets.
