Falcons Win

An outstanding crowd at Elks Stadium were treated to a very entertaining game on Tuesday night as the Kelowna Falcons beat the Edmonton Riverhawks 6-5.

The home side jumped out in front immediately with a pair of runs on RBI hits from Luke Solis and Shea Thomas. Then in the third inning the Falcons extended their lead to three when Solis scored on a Riverhawk error.

Starting pitcher Cole Van Every was cruising through the first four innings and seemed to get stronger as the game carried on. The Riverhawks did score twice in the fifth which didn’t phrase Van Every who stayed in the game and continued to roll.

After the visitors tied it in the seventh the Falcons came right back to regain the lead in the bottom of the inning. With runners on, Jaden Parsons delivered a base hit to bring home Troy McCain which broke the tie. In eighth CJ Richmond (pictured) crushed the second pitch he saw over the centerfield wall for his sixth homer of the season scoring Thomas ahead of him for what would turnout to be the game winning hit.

Van Every scored the win and was one-out away from a complete game victory. Newcomer Kade Kozak came out of the pen to record the save.
