Kelowna Falcons

A Richmond Blast

The Kelowna Falcons won their 16th game of the season and move to .500 with a 5-4 victory over the Walla Walla Sweets on Friday night in front of an impressive crowd.

The Falcons got the crowd into it early scoring an unearned run in the bottom of the first inning as Jake Steels came across to score. In their next at bat the home side added to their lead thanks to a two-run homerun off the bat of CJ Richmond, (pictured) his fifth of the campaign.

In the fourth inning the Falcons tacked on two more runs when Jaden Parsons knocked in Richmond and Nico Button with a one-out single. That hit would turn out to be the game winning tally.

The Sweets made the game close in the eighth scoring four times, only two of them were earned.

Jasper Nelson recorded the victory while Nick Woodcock pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up the save.

The Falcons and Sweets will battle again on Saturday night, which is also Ladies Night. Gather up the gals and get a game AND drink ticket for just $10. Ladies’ night tickets are only available at the gate, which opens at 5:30pm with the first pitch at 6:35pm.
