Auggie Added

The Kelowna Falcons are pleased to announce the signing of freshman infielder Auggie Gutierrez from the University of California, Irvine.

The Anteaters have high hopes for Gutierrez, who has seen limited playing time this spring, but is on a very quick trajectory. In high school last year, he was named an All-Trinity League player, won a gold glove, was a scholar athlete and was on the honour roll.

The Yorba Linda, California native is interested in pursuing a career in physics or engineering and will announce his major soon. His father went to UCLA while his mother attended Cal State Fullerton.
So far in seven games with the Anteaters this spring he has 16 plate appearances with a couple of hits, three runs scored and an RBI.

As a member of the Falcons, Gutierrez will no doubt have plenty of opportunity to grow with the college game which will better prepare him for his sophomore season when he returns to Irvine after the summer.

Welcome Auggie!

The Falcons free home opener presented by Stutters Restoration Is set for June 6th at Elks Stadium when we welcome the Nanaimo NightOwls.

The Falcons are also looking for billet/host families for the upcoming summer. You can make a difference in the life of a student athlete when they are in Kelowna. Host families receive a grocery allowance, tickets and an unforgettable experience. Keep in mind our players are only in town for half the summer, with the other half on the road at away games. For details contact Alex Draper at 250-575-2400.
