Win Streak Snapped

Saturday night the Kelowna Falcons had their three-game winning streak snapped at the hands of the Edmonton Riverhawks 6-0.

One night before the Falcons pitching staff held the Riverhawks without a run, however fast-forward one night and the home side got on the board in the first inning on Saturday with a single run, then added four more in the second inning. Starter Jaxon Byrd was smacked around for five runs on three hits and didn’t have great control walking four batters while striking out two over the course of three innings. He was hit with the loss.

The Falcons offence didn’t muster much, recording only four hits. Griffin Palfrey and Kyle Corso each had a double, but that was pretty much it as the Falcons didn’t score for the fourth time this season.

The series rubber match in Edmonton is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1:05pm. Sam Hall (1-1) will be on the bump while the Riverhawks counter with Chas Wheatley (0-2). The boys will head back to Kelowna following the game and enjoy four days off before hosting the Riverhawks beginning on Friday in the second half of a home-and-home. Tickets are available HERE.

Next week the Falcons will host their final Kids Camp of the summer with a two-day session on Wednesday and Thursday at Elks Stadium. Registration is open and all details are located HERE.
