Falcons Snap Skid

Tuesday night the Falcons used 10 hits and scored nine runs on route to a 9-2 victory over the Klamath Falls Gems.

Fresh off his All-Star selection, Scotland Church collected two hits including a two-run homerun in the fourth to lead the way.  Brandon Grimsiey tallied two more hits, an RBI and a run scored, while Ryan Degner scored twice, recorded two hits and two RBIs including his first double of the season.

Six of the Falcons 10 hits were extra hits.  Grimsley, Degner, Church, Josh Croft and Colton Waltner each had a double.

Starter Sam Murphy was brilliant through five innings.  He allowed two runs, scattered five hits and struck out seven recording his first win of the summer.  In the final four innings, Matt Moriarty, Wyatt Mills and Church combined to hold the Gems to just one hit.

The win snaps the Falcons (9-23) five game slide and they will try and win the series on Wednesday night with Josh Nuernberg getting the start.
