Kelowna Falcons

Final Series

The Falcons are preparing for the final series of the summer as they welcome in the Walla Walla Sweets for a weekend series beginning tonight at Elks Stadium.

Both teams are out of the playoff picture and will fight for pride this weekend. The Falcons were swept by Wenatchee this week, while the Sweets have lost two straight.

This has the makings of a high scoring series as both pitching staffs have struggled.  The Falcons have combined for a 5.75 ERA while the Sweets have compiled a 5.62 ERA.  Joel Lamont will start Friday night for the home side, then the Lambright twins will start Saturday and Sunday.

Offensively the Sweets are hitting at a .267 clip, the Falcons have the lowest average of .239.  The Sweets like to score runs and could put on a power display this weekend.  They are first in runs scored (321), triples (15) and homeruns (40).  It’ll be up to the Falcons staff to try and cool their bats and give their own offense a chance.

Friday night (6:35pm) the Falcons will feature a “Five Dollar Friday,” get dinner at the ballpark as a burger and pop combo is just $5.00.

Saturday night (6:35pm) the Falcons will be wearing specialty jerseys for the jersey off the back contest.

Sunday night (6:05pm) is Fan Appreciation Day!
