Tuesday night the Falcons opened their final home stand of the season welcoming their divisional rival the Wenatchee Applesox to town for a three game series.

Jeremy Newton started for the Falcons and appeared to be on cruise control until the fifth inning.  In the top of the fifth Newton didn’t record an out, allowing three runs before being pulled to make room for  Wyatt Mills who also struggled in the inning, allowing three more runs that were all charged to Newton.

In the next inning, Mills surrendered four more runs in the inning, giving the Applesox a commanding 10-0 lead.

Kevin Flemer pitched the top of the seventh and allowed a run.

The Falcons offense was very quiet on Tuesday night tallying just five hits, all of them singles.  Kory Matthews recorded two of the five hits.

The Applesox won their fifth game over the Falcons this summer, 11-0 and outhit them 17-5.

Wednesday night the Falcons will look to rebound with lefty Sam Murphy on the hill.   The first 150 fans through the gates at 5:30 will receive a complimentary autographed baseball.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm.
