Falcons Win Series

The Kelowna Falcons win their first series of the summer, after blasting four homeruns and 17 hits beating the Victoria Harbourcats 8-3 on Sunday afternoon.

The offence began in the third inning as Josh Egan homered on the first pitch he saw.  Later in the inning Ben Gamba singled in Matt Hearn to put the Falcons up be a pair.  It’s Gamba’s fourth RBI in three games.

Then in the fourth Egan knocked in his second run of the game as he singled in Wade Gulden for what would turn out to be the winning run.

That was all starter Elias Bedolla needed as he worked six solid innings, allowing just two hits and struck out seven on route to his first win of the season.

In the seventh, the Falcons offence added some insurance as both Justin Flores and Andre Jackson belted two run homers, to put the Falcons in front 7-0.

Vinny Esposito got in on the action with a solo homerun in the eighth, his first of the summer.

Four Falcons pitchers surrendered just seven hits in the series finale as the club now prepares for their FREE home opener on Tuesday night at Elks Stadium.  The Falcons (2-1) will host the Yakima Pippins (3-0) with the first pitch at 6:35pm.
