Falcons At Regionals

A pair of Falcons are playing today for a chance to propel their school into a Super Regional in the NCAA Division 1 Baseball Playoffs.
Tevin Mitchell (pictured) of the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are ranked #2 in the Nashville Regional are battling #4 Xavier today. The playoff tournament is a double elimination. After beating Xavier yesterday 5-4, if the Gauchos win today, they will win the Region and move onto the Super Regionals and face the Louisville Cardinals. Once the Gaucho season is completed, Mitchell will join the Falcons.
Brad Antchak of the top ranked Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns will play the #2 University of Arizona Wildcats tonight at 5:00pm PST. The winner in the Lafayette Regional winner and moves onto the Super Regional to face Mississippi State. Both teams have beaten each other once, so the winner takes all tonight. Antchak will join the Falcons once his season is completed.
Meanwhile the Falcons are on a two game winning streak and will hit the road for the first time this season beginning tomorrow. The Falcons (2-1) will play the undefeated Walla Walla Sweets (3-0) on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before returning home to face the Victoria Harbourcats on the weekend.
