Kelowna Falcons

Losing Streak Hits Six

The Kelowna Falcons (17-16) lost their sixth straight game Sunday night. They were walked off by the Wenatchee AppleSox (18-12) by a score of 6-5.

It was a tough loss for the Falcons, who were ahead by a score of 5-3 coming into the bottom of the ninth. Kelowna has now lost six straight games, which is a season high. Kelowna does have a silver lining working in their favour however. They have already clinched a playoff spot and are awaiting their August opponent.

Chris Arpan and JT Williams both got their first home runs of the season and Logan Steinberg had three hits and RBI. Falcons starter Cal Hehnke went seven strong innings, allowing five hits with one earned run. He also walked three while striking out four.

The Falcons bullpen was called upon, with Jake Roes, the lefty out of Lower Columbia College, taking the loss on the night. The Falcons will be back at it tomorrow against the Corvallis Knights, the other team to have already punched their playoff ticket.

First pitch goes at 6:40. Kade Mechals (3-0) will take the mound for Kelowna.
