The Falcons slow start to the second half of the season continues following a 5-0 loss in Corvallis on Sunday.

Brody Woods made his first start on the bump and kept the Falcons in the ball game early. He lasted 4.1 innings giving up three runs on four hits against the league’s top offence. He was tagged with the loss.

The Falcons’ offence struggled, finding it difficult to solve any of the five Knight pitchers. Richi Sede was the best hitter on Sunday for the visitors finishing 2-3 with a double and a walk. Johnny Carr, James Shimashita and Marcus Guarin recorded a hit each.

This is the third time this season the Falcons offence was shutout.

The final game of the six game road trip is scheduled for tonight in Cowlitz against the Black Bears with Matt Voelzke on the mound. The boys return home and open a three game home stand on Tuesday against the Wenatchee Applesox. Tickets are available now.
