All-Decade Team

Since 2010 the Falcons have had many great players who have gone on to incredible individual achievements trying to reach the ultimate goal.

With the calendar changed to 2020, we have compiled our All-Decade Team that include MLB Draft picks, college standouts, a firefighter and a pitcher who has thrown for three different Major League teams since leaving Elks Stadium in Kelowna.

Here is the All-Decade Team:

Leftfielder – Trent Tinglestad is our All-Decade leftfielder after an MVP season in 2018. He hit .350 with 55 hits, 13 doubles, 40 RBIs and led the West Coast League (WCL) with 9 homeruns. He was drafted and signed by the Seattle Mariners in the 2019 MLB draft.

Centerfield – Kyle Pearson is our All-Decade center fielder after his 2012 season, his second in Kelowna. He hit .326 with 59 hits which at that time set a new team record, he also hit 7 homers and had 33 RBIs. He was named a West Coast League All-Star.

Right Field – Grayson Porter is our All-Decade rightfielder after his 2013 season. He had all the tools that summer hitting .316 with 62 hits which at that time set a new team record; he also had 4 homers and 29 RBIs.

Third Baseman – Hunter Villanueva is our All-Decade third baseman after a West Coast League MVP season in 2015 setting a new team record for average of .378, with 62 knocks, 7 homers and 33 RBIs. He won the All-Star Game homerun contest.

Shortstop – Taylor Wright is our All-Decade shortstop. He spent two seasons with us but 2017 was by far his best. He set new team records with 69 hits, 11 homeruns and 54 RBIs. He was named a West Coast League All-Star that summer.

Second Baseman – Connor Joe is our All-Decade second baseman after playing in Kelowna during the 2011 season once finished high school. He hit .273 with 21 hits in 22 games and had 6 RBIs. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2014 and has since spent time with the Atlanta Braves, LA Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants organizations. He made his MLB debut with the Giants in 2019 playing 8 games.

First Baseman – Dan Pruitt is our All-Decade first baseman following his 2018 season. He hit .331 with 43 hits, 7 homers and 26 RBIs, was named a WCL All-Star, then was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 2019.

Catcher – Aaron Jones is our All-Decade catcher after his 2010 season in Kelowna playing 21 games hitting .346, 15 RBIs and a homer. Drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2010, then by the Colorado Rockies in 2012 but decided to become a firefighter instead.

Designated Hitter – Justin Flores is our All-Decade designated hitter after a great 2015 season. He hit .358, second highest all-time for the Falcons with 57 hits, 8 homers and 39 RBIs. He was named a WCL All-Star and went 2-4 in the game.

Starting Pitcher – Dayne Quist is in our starting rotation of our All-Decade team after a wonderful 2010 season. The southpaw led the WCL with a 1.40 ERA throwing 51.1 innings and struck out 50 finishing 6-1.

Starting Pitcher – Brandon Marris is in our starting rotation of our All-Decade team after his season in 2011 appearing in 23 games, throwing 81.1 innings and struck out a team high 71 batters. He also pitched in 2012 winning seven games and fanning 48 batters.

Starting Pitcher – Cal Hehnke is in our starting rotation of our All-Decade team after the 2018 season. He appeared 17 times, throwing 26 innings, striking out 42 with a 3-1 record and a tiny 1.73 ERA. He was also named to the WCL All-Star Game. He signed as a free agent with the Texas Rangers in 2019.

Starting Pitcher – Trevor Brigden is in our starting rotation of our All-Decade team following the 2018 season in which he threw 58 innings compiling a 2.95 ERA striking out 69 batters, second all-time for a Falcons pitcher. He was drafted and signed by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2019.

Relief Pitcher – Tyler Wagner comes out of the bullpen for our All-Decade team after his 2010 season in Kelowna. He appeared in 19 games and threw 32.2 innings striking out 35 and finished 3-0. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2012. He has also spent time with the Arizona Diamondbacks and Texas Rangers.

Relief Pitcher – Jordan Westra comes out of the bullpen for our All-Decade team after his 2010 season. He was a dominating closer recording 10 saves and an ERA of 2.20 striking out 41

Closer – Cale Coshow comes out of the bullpen and is our closer of our All-Decade team after being in Kelowna in 2012. He appeared in 15 games struck-out 38 with a 2.74 ERA over 62.1 innings. The next year he was drafted by the New York Yankees and finished last season in AAA.
