Best Of The Weekend

The Kelowna Falcons are proud to announce the Player and Pitcher of the Series presented by Wildfire Marketing following a pair of games against the Kamloops NorthPaws this weekend.

Player of the Series
Makana Olaso – San Jose State, Murrieta, CA

He was outstanding both offensively and defensively for the Falcons on Friday night, in a game that went 12 innings. He had a game high four hits and scored two of the team’s five runs. Behind the plate he caught 11 of the 12 innings and four different pitchers. He threw out a runner trying to steal and made 11 putouts.

Pitcher of the Series
Nick Woodcock – Yavapai College, Whitby, ON

For the third time this season Woodcock has been named the Pitcher of the Series following an outstanding individual performance. On Saturday night he threw seven shutout innings against the first place NorthPaws on route to an 8-2 victory. Over his eight complete innings of work, he struck out eight, scattered five hits and ended up allowing two runs. He now has 20 strikeouts on the season which leads the pitching staff.

The Falcons are back in action on Thursday night at Elks Stadium and will play in the annual Firefighters Burn Fund Night. All ticket sales will be donated to the BC Burn Fund and fans will enjoy plenty of in-game excitement along with a fireworks show following the game (weather permitting).
