Bounce Back

The Falcons bounced back on Wednesday night in Wenatchee beating the Applesox 11-7 behind 16 hits and a six-run first inning.

On Tuesday the bats struggled falling 9-4 as the offence managed just five hits with Jake Steels and CJ Richmond each collecting a double and an RBI. Jeriah Lewis and Nico Button also batted in a run.

Wednesday however it was a different story and set the tone early with those six runs after sending 11 men to the plate. Michael Montrezza, Konnor Palmeira and Jaden Sheppard each had three hits while Griffin Palfrey had a pair of hits and three RBIs. In all, five Falcons had multi-hit games.

On the bump starter Derek Beairsto got the run support early, coming out in the bottom of the first with a 6-0 lead. He would throw six complete innings with eight strikeouts on route to his first win of the season.

The Applesox did make the game interesting in the late stages, scoring all seven of their runs in the last three innings.

The Falcons (8-10) and Sox (10-13) will wrap up their series on Thursday night in the rubber match. Brock Keller (1-0) is the scheduled starter for the visitors.

Following this series, the Falcons will stay on the road and visit the Walla Walla Sweets for a weekend series before returning to Elks Stadium on Tuesday to host the Applesox. Reserve your tickets online HERE.
