Double Dip

Following the rain out on Friday night the Falcons will welcome the Victoria Harbourcats on Saturday in a doubleheader to open the West Coast League (WCL) season.

The first game is scheduled for 4:00pm, with the second beginning at 6:35pm at Elks Stadium. Both games of the doubleheader will be seven innings.

It has been over 1,000 days since the Falcons have played a game and have a completely new roster, with changes being made on a daily basis. There are currently 21 players in Kelowna that will suit up on Saturday against the Harbourcats. Four of the players on the roster from Kelowna and are excited to play in front of the hometown crowd, Jaden Parsons, Clarke Swift, Logan Keating and Cole Van Every, who is expected to start the second game on the mound.

For the Falcons it’s their first game of the new season, but the Harbourcats come into the weekend on a two-game losing streak. After winning their home opener on Tuesday against the Port Angeles Lefties, they lost the last two games of the series.

Brock Keller is the probable starter for the Falcons in the first game. He is a sophomore-to-be at Centralia College and is a big righthander from Buckley, Washington at 6’2 and 220 points. Kelowna’s Van Every will get the ball in game two on Saturday.
