Kelowna Falcons

Game Day

The Falcons (5-6) are set to host the first place Kamloops NorthPaws on Friday night to open a three-game series at Elks Stadium. It’s the first ever match-up with the newly expanded NorthPaws.

The Falcons have made the difficult decision to postpone tonight’s fireworks show following the game due to the Environment Canada forecast.

“Mother Nature has not been on our side so far this season,” says General Manager Mark Nonis. “We want our fans to enjoy a typical Kelowna summer night capped off by a spectacular fireworks show and unfortunately tonight is not that night. Even if it doesn’t rain, we didn’t want to take that chance and disappoint our fans having to postpone the fireworks halfway through the game. Making the call now gives our fans time to make the appropriate plans and hopefully everyone still comes to tonight’s game because our players could use their support.”

Tonight’s game will still proceed as planned as the Falcons welcome the first place Kamloops NorthPaws in this historical match-up between the two natural rivalry cities. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35pm as Derek Beairsto makes his Falcons debut on the mound.

Tonight’s postgame fireworks show will be made up later this summer. Fans are reminded that on Thursday night is the annual Firefighters Night at the ballpark and a fireworks show is planned for after that game.
