Saturday in Edmonton the Kelowna Falcons offence struggled as the club lost both games of the doubleheader 1-0.
In game 1 starting pitcher Jasper Nelson was outstanding throwing a complete game (6 innings) allowing just one run on a sacrifice fly, striking out six and gave up five hits. The Falcons offence meanwhile was silent collecting just three hits.
The second game of the twin-bill was also offensively challenged as the club couldn’t find any support for starting pitcher Nick Woodcock. They would collect five hits, all of them singles. Woodcock gave up a run in the fourth inning, just like in game one and lasted 4.2 innings, allowing just two hits.
On Sunday afternoon the Falcons (12-15) and Riverhawks (14-17) will play in the series finale at 12:05pm with Cho Tofte getting the start on the mound, his first of the season.
