Pitching Duel

Tuesday night at Elks Stadium saw a pitching duel between the Falcons and the Wenatchee Applesox that the home side lost 2-1.

Both teams scored in their first at bat off the respective starters. The Applesox opened the scoring getting a runoff of Derek Beairsto before the Falcons tied it after an RBI sacrifice fly by CJ Richmond to score Jake Steels who had walked.

From there it was all pitching as Beairsto lasted six innings before making way for Sean Fekete to come out of the pen. A solo homerun in the fifth off the bat of Matt Halbach which turned out to be the game winner.

The Falcons offence was held to just five hits, two of them from Kam Edwards.

These two teams will battle again on Wednesday night at Elks Stadium, on Strike Out Cancer Night. Come to the ballpark and honour the memory of someone in your family. Gates open at 5:30pm, with the first pitch at 6:35pm.
