Falcons Shutout
The Corvallis Knights pitching staff frustrated the Kelowna Falcons hitters on Monday night capturing a 2-0 victory at Elks Stadium.
The setback was the Falcons third straight loss with the offence managing only one hit off the bat of Jaxon Byrd. As a matter of fact, the Falcons had only two base runners the entire game, finding it difficult to get on base against a pair of Knight pitchers. The other Falcon to reach base was Ryoma Imani who was hit by a pitch.
Speaking of pitching, the Falcons staff was very good against the perennial powerhouse fanning eight batters and scattering 10 hits. Nolan Patterson came out of the pen in the eighth inning and surrendered both runs, only one of the earned and was hit with the loss.
Tuesday night the Falcons (14-14) will try and snap their three-game slide against the Knights (17-8) in game two of the three-game series at Elks Stadium. The gates open at 5:30pm, with the first pitch set for 6:35pm. Sam Hill (1-1) is the expected starter, and he will face Grant Cleavinger (1-0). Tickets are available HERE, or keep listening to 99.9 Virgin Radio, 101.5 Move FM or AM 1150 for a chance to win your way in.
