Sweet 16…..K’s!
The Kelowna Falcons made quick work of the visiting Edmonton Riverhawks on Saturday night with a 5-0 shutout victory.
The offence scored all five runs in the fifth inning sending nine men to the plate. Sam Flores collected a two-run double, Griffin Palfrey and Luke Solis drove in a run and Solis scored on a wild pitch.
That’s all the offensive support the pitching staff would need as four Falcons pitchers combined for a three-hitter and an incredible 16 strikeouts including seven by winning pitcher Sam Hall. Starter Reid Hensley lasted four inning and fanned five in a no-decision. Meanwhile Nate Rosser and Blaine Hardy (pictured) each struck out a pair of batters.
Sunday night the Falcons (20-15) will look for a series sweep over the Riverhawks (10-25) as these two teams meet for the final time this season. Tickets for Sunday’s game are available HERE.
