Bats Silenced

The Kelowna Falcons bats never got going on Saturday night falling 12-2 in Victoria and could only muster one hit.

After the Harbourcats opened the scoring collecting three runs in the first four innings, the Falcons finally struck back. Griffin Palfrey (pictured) led off the top of the fifth with a solo homerun, his second of the season. Sadly, that would be the only Falcons hit of the ballgame. Garet Crenshaw also scored in that inning after receiving a walk, moved to second on a balk, then scored on a pair of wild pitches.

Impressively four Harbourcats pitchers combined for the one-hitter and struck out 14 Falcons batters. Teagan Ribbink was hit with the loss.

The news gets a bit more troubling as well following the setback. The Nanaimo NightOwls beat the Kamloops NorthPaws on Saturday which means they move to within half a game of the Falcons for the final playoff spot in the North Division.

The Falcons and Harbourcats will meet again on Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm. Tai Phetluangsy gets the nod for the visitors. Fans can watch it HERE.

Wednesday the Falcons return to Elks Stadium for the final five games of the campaign as we welcome the NorthPaws to town. Tickets for any of the final five games are available online HERE.
