Falcons Fall in Opener
Our ball club opened the 2024 season on Friday night and struggled to find rhythm, falling 7-0 to the Nanaimo NightOwls.
Offensively our club showed some rust collecting just two hits, one from Eddie Fines, the other from Aidan Malish. Matthew Pena had great patience at the plate working his way aboard twice with a pair of walks.
The NightOwls scored five times in the seventh to add to their 1-0 lead and put the game out of reach. David Draayers from UBC led the way with three hits and two RBIs.
Reliever Zach Sutton threw three innings and was hit with the loss while striking out two.
Saturday the Falcons will regroup and face the NightOwls again in the second game of the series at 6:35pm with the gates opening at 5:30pm. Grab your tickets now HERE.
