Streak Snapped!

It was a wild finish on Friday night as the Falcons held on to beat the visiting Yakima Pippins 12-10 to snap their three-game losing streak.

After giving up a lead-off homer in the top of the first inning the Falcons stormed back in the bottom of the second scoring five times to take the lead for good.  Jacob Devenny, Drew Stevens, Christian Salazar and Raphael Smeenk each had RBI hits in the inning.

The teams would trade runs in the fifth before the Falcons tallied another six runs in the seventh, all with two out.  Sam Flores had the key hit in the inning, a bases clearing double bringing home Salazar, Smeenk and Raydely Legito.

The Pippins didn’t go away quietly scoring seven runs in their final two at bats even putting the tying run on at second before Caleb Taylor struck out the final batter.  Starter Carson Kimball recorded the win on the bump.

At the plate Flores, Stevens, Devenny and Salazar each had a multi-hit game and both Smeenk and Flores each collected three RBIs each.

Saturday night the Falcons host the Pippins again at Elks Stadium at 6:35pm.  The first 100 fans will receive a free Falcons action photo courtesy of Tami Quan Photography.  The gates open at 5:30pm and fans can purchase tickets HERE.

**There was issues with the internet at the stadium on Friday and the team is unsure if it will be working on Saturday night.  The team urges fans to bring cash for the concession or any other purchases during the game.  The team apologizes for any inconvenience.
