Pippins Pummelled

A six-run third inning for the Falcons on Saturday night led to a 10-1 victory over the visiting Yakima Pippins.

Matthew Pena, in that massive third inning had the biggest hit, a two-run, two-out single to bring home Gavyn Jones and Brecken Menuet to cap off the inning.   Then in the fourth the Falcons tacked on four more thanks to two hit hits by Trey Duffield (pictured) and Jones.

That’s all the scoring the Falcons would need as three of their pitchers combined for a three-hitter.  Reece Bueno, Ethan Rattie and Cohen Bydlowski combined for nine strikeouts and Rattie collected the win.

Offensively the Falcons tallied 11 hits, as Menuet, Duffield and Trevor Wilson combined for six of those 11 hits and both Duffield and Christian Salazar each had extra base hits.

On Sunday the Falcons will host the Pippins for the final time at Elks Stadium, the first pitch is set for 6:05pm.  It’s a Family Pack Night, fans can get four tickets, four hotdogs and four pops for $75 and these are only available at the gate.  All other tickets can be purchased online HERE.
