Birds of Prey Battle

Following a 19-5 setback on Sunday afternoon in Victoria, the Falcons will open a three-game series today in Nanaimo against the NightQwls.

Despite the loss on Sunday the Falcons still took the series as the second half of the schedule officially opened up.

In the first series of the summer in May/June, the NightOwls came to Kelowna and beat the Falcons two of the three games and outscored the home side 22-17. For the Falcons, 14 of those 17 runs scored came in the final game of the series.

Its tough to measure a summer team in the first couple of series of the season with players just getting to know each other and starting to gel. The next three days will be a true test against the NightOwls.

The Falcons have been playing better has of late, 6-4 in their last 10 games and are officially 2-1 in the second half, one game back of the front running Bellingham Bells.

The NightOwls meanwhile have lost two of their last three games and are coming off a 14-8 loss yesterday against the Wenatchee Applesox.

Rightly Zach Sutton (0-2) will get the start for the Falcons while the NightOwls will counter with righty Aidan Boice (0-3). The first pitch is set for 6:35pm at Serauxmen Stadium in Nanaimo. Fans can watch live stream HERE.
