Series Win

It was a massive fourth inning for the Falcons on Sunday afternoon scoring seven runs en route to an 8-7 victory over the Cowlitz Black Bears and took the weekend series, ending the nine-game road trip.
In that fourth inning both Matthew Pena and Caden Mitchell (pictured) each drove in two runs with a base knock while Nate Gray Jr, Trey Duffield, and Aidan Kuni also had RBIs in the inning. The eventual winning run was scored in the fifth after Gray Jr tripled with one out, Kuni brought him home on an RBI sac-fly.
The Falcons used four pitchers on the afternoon. Sebastian Castro earned the win after 1.2 innings of work and for the second consecutive day Isaac Godard recorded the save, his fourth of the summer.
Offensively the bats knocked out 11 hits, three of which came from Gray Jr who also drove in a run and scored twice. Pena and Mitchell each had two hits and two RBIs and Dante Vachini had a pair of hits.
Monday will be an off day for the Falcons before they play on Tuesday night at Elks Stadium welcoming the Kamloops NorthPaws to town. The game will be the make-up game for the rain out on Canada Day. The gates open at 5:30pm and the first pitch is set for 6:35pm. Fans can purchase tickets in advance HERE.
