I Am Degroot

Local product Ryan Degroot will return to his hometown Falcons this summer and will suit up for the second straight year with the birds.
The OKM grad is finishing his first season at the Division II University of Indianapolis and has been adjusting to better pitching after two years at Danville Area Community College of the NJCAA in Illinois. To date this spring, he has only 17 at bats and is hitting .235 with a double and two RBIs.
Last season with the Falcons he played in 26 games, hit .280 with 23 hits, five doubles and nine RBIs with a wood bat. With that season under his belt, along with his year at UIndy, the Falcons coaching staff is expecting big things from the junior.
He is expected to be in Kelowna for opening day on May 30th when the Falcons host the Victoria HarbourCats at Elks Stadium.
Season tickets are available now by calling the Falcons headquarters at 250-763-4100 or emailing admin@kelownafalcons.com.
