All-Stars in 2024

The Kelowna Falcons are proud to announce that outfielder Trey Duffield and utility player Gavyn Jones have been selected to the West Coast League All-Star Game.

They will represent the North Division team on Wednesday July 17th when the game takes place in Bellingham.

Duffield (pictured) is playing his second summer in Kelowna and is currently hitting .282 with eight doubles, three homeruns and has a triple along with a team leading 20 RBIs.

“It’s definitely very exciting,” says Duffield. “Making the All-Star team means that you’re one of the best players in your position and that is certainly always a goal of mine, regardless of the level. This summer has been a great learning experience for me and how I can improve as a player. Lots of extra work and time with my swing has been the root of my success this season. Seeing the fruits of my labor is always something that makes me proud of myself. Through the good times and the hard times this summer, I’m always reminded by myself and my parents that the Lord has a plan for me and that it will not come easy. It’s important for me to always remember that my success will always come after failure.

I’m extremely excited to represent Kelowna, the state of Texas, USA, and Rice University at the All-Star Game!”

Jones meanwhile is in his first summer with the Falcons and has made an impressive impact. When in the line-up, the lefty is hitting .324 after 37 at bats with three doubles, a homer and nine RBIs. On the bump he’s appeared in five games, has thrown 12 innings and has struck out 14 batters.

The West Coast League All-Star Game is returning after a lengthy hiatus. The last mid-summer classic was played in 2019. “We are thrilled to bring back the All-Star Game and celebrate the incredible talent in our league,” said WCL Commissioner Rob Neyer.

The event is a two-day extravaganza beginning on Tuesday July 16 with a fun integrated baseball game featuring teens and adults with developmental disabilities creating memories that will last forever.
