Birds of Prey Clash

A mid-week three game series between the Falcons and visiting Edmonton Riverhawks opens on Tuesday at Elks Stadium.

These two teams are familiar with each other meeting last week in Edmonton with the Falcons stealing one game prior to the Stanley Cup playoffs coming to town.

That win in Edmonton is the last time the Falcons tasted victory, currently in a four-game slump looking to get back into the win column. The bats were quiet this past weekend scoring just two runs against the visiting Bellingham Bells.

In Edmonton the Falcons offence tallied 15 runs over the course of the three games, something head coach Doug Noce is hoping for more of.  That said, the offence isn’t the only thing that needs to flip a switch, the defence needs to be better.  Errors against Bellingham led to several unearned runs prolonging the pitcher’s outing.

Speaking of pitchers Carson Kimball, Guy McKay and Zach Sutton are the scheduled starters this week.

Tuesday night the official Falcons photographer Tami Quan will give away 50 action photos of both Ryan Degroot and Nate Gray Jr to the first 100 fans through the gates, then the players will sign them following the game.

Wednesday night the first 150 fans will receive an autographed team ball courtesy of Tim Hortons and then Thursday is the annual Fire Fighters Burn Fund fundraiser game.  It’s also a great chance to shake the hands of some of our incredible heroes after last year’s wildfire season.

Each night the gates open at 5:30pm, with the first pitch set for 6:35pm.  Tickets can be purchased HERE.
