Falcons Bounce Back

The Falcons scored single runs in five different innings and beat the Cowlitz Black Bears on Saturday night 5-4.
Aidan Kuni (pictured) got the scoring started with a first inning homerun, his third of the campaign. In the third the visitors added another on a two-out RBI single by Raphael Smeenk who knocked in Jacob Campagna. Then in the fifth Myles Walton scored on a wild pitch to give the Falcons their third run.
In the sixth Trey Duffield collected a two-out RBI double scoring Kuni followed by an RBI sac-fly by Campagna to bring home Walton with the eventual game winning run.
The Black Bears were quiet until the sixth when they scored three times, then added a single run in the eighth but came up short in their comeback bid.
Offensively the Falcons had eight hits with Smeenk and Campagna each collecting two of them. JJ Hollis, in his Falcons debut picked up the win despite giving up three runs and Isaac Godard threw 1.1 innings for the save.
Sunday afternoon the Falcons will meet the Black Bears for the final time in the series rubber match. Gavyn Jones is the scheduled starter with the opening pitch set for 1:05pm. Fans can watch the game HERE.
