Falcons in Portland

The Falcons open their final series of the summer Tuesday night in Portland when they face the Pickles for three games.

It was a successful three-game weekend sweep for the Falcons taking care of the Kamloops NorthPaws before heading south to Oregon.  They had timely hitting all series long and more importantly the pitching was consistent, something the team has struggled with throughout the summer.

Meanwhile the Pickles are also coming off a weekend sweep, beating the Yakima Pippins before having Monday off to prepare for the Falcons visit.  The Pickles have secured a berth in the West Coast League playoffs and will no doubt finish second or third in the South Division and meet the Ridgefield Raptors in the first round.

The Falcons and Pickles met earlier this season at Elks Stadium.  The Falcons took the first game 6-5 before the Pickles won the next two 9-5 and 6-0.

Tuesday night Zach Sutton will make his final appearance of the summer as he heads to the mound to open this three-game series.
